|This and the following 6 pictures were taken in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The date was July 24, 2012 and the time was between 9:30 and 10:30PM. We
were getting Thunder and Lightning but the rain was at a distance. From my balcony I was able to take over 100 pictures with lightning in the frame. All of the
pictures were taken with my Canon XSi and my Canon 18-55MM lens set at 55MM on a Fixed Tripod. They range in length from 3 to 10 second exposures.
Exposures were taken until Lightning struck or 10 seconds passed. After 10 seconds, over-exposure began. Too much light from the complex. No pictures
are stacked. The Lightning you see in each picture is what was captured in that exposure. Only work done to pictures were to sharpen and adjust color and
contrast. That work was done in Ulead and Photoshop. Pictures were downsized in Picture Project.
|It Was A Great Show!!!
|Notice how the lightning completely across the picture. The lightning seemed to stay pretty low and extreemly long in the sky. What
you see in the picture is not the complete lightning. There was more to the right but the building I was staying in blocked that part of
the sky. The lightning was very bright and had long bolts.
